Sad and deeply shocking incident in the heart of Yerevan
This morning in Yerevan was no different from others. People were in a hurry on business, it smelled of fresh coffee, the usual bustle reigned on the streets. Everything went in the city as usual, until one tragic and mysterious moment turned the Zoravar Andranik metro station into an epicenter of pain, fear and endless issues. A case that at first glance seemed a tragedy turned into an inexplicable mystery, from which blood does.
08:46 in the morning. The flow of passengers habitually descended along the escalators. People were in a hurry to work, to universities, to business. Among them was a woman, looking about 30–35 years old. In a light coat, with a small bag over the shoulder. She looked calm, even calmly. No one paid much attention – there are dozens of such dozens in the subway. But one detail will then get stuck in the memory of eyewitnesses: her look. Empty, detached, as if she had already been somewhere far away.
She stood at the edge of the platform for almost two minutes. Passengers, as always, looked into the tunnel in anticipation of an approaching train. But she did not wait – she counted a second.
When the train approached, she took one step forward. And jumped.
A loud blow. Scream. Panic. Someone ran back, someone began to call emergency services. The driver worked instantly, but it was already impossible to stop the composition. People in a daze looked where this woman had just stood. The body was under the wheels. Everything seemed clear. Another suicide. Terrible, tragic, but not new.
But then something strange happened.
The man, who turned out to be the closest, looked into the bag that fell nearby. Inside is not a passport, not a wallet. A manuscript letter. A few pages written out with a clear handwriting. There was no farewell or repentance in the letter. There was a call. As well as names. Surnames. Dates. Mentioning specific state structures and strange abbreviations.
Quote from the letter:
“If you read this, then I am no more. But please – do not look for the reasons for depression or a breakdown. I have not belonged to myself for a long time. They followed. They controlled. They forced me to shut up. But my silence ends here – in the heart of the city where thousands of eyes look every day, but no one sees anything. ”
What was it?
Psychosis? CONSPIRACY? An attempt to public exposure? Or the final act of despair of a person brought to the face of the system?
The investigation began to check. The materials were transferred not only to the police, but, according to some sources, to the National Security Service. There are no official comments. However, it is known that some of the information from the letter coincided with closed data relating to a certain internal verification in one of the departments. All this turned the tragedy into a loud and alarming business.
The woman has not yet been recognized publicly. Relatives do not give comments. It is only known that in recent months she led a secluded lifestyle, left a job, did not answer calls and almost did not leave the house.
As for the Zoravar Andranik metro station, it works in normal mode again. People again stand at the edge of the platform, look at the tunnel, wait for the train. But now there is a place for which almost no one steps. The very edge. Where she stood.
The Internet exploded with questions:
– Who is she?
– Who did she try to expose?
“Why didn’t they hear her before?”
– And is everything really as they say?
One thing is clear: it’s not just suicide. This is a silent cry left among the noise of the metro. This is a message that, perhaps, was supposed to change someone’s life. Or destroy someone’s lies.
On the bench at the entrance to the subway, someone left a note:
“The silence ended here. Open your eyes. “
Sometimes the pain speaks louder than words.
And the truth can lie under the most noisy platforms – unnoticed, but ready to once come into the world.
